‘Turner Views’ arose from a sketching session at the Beyond Form: Lines of Abstraction exhibition at the Turner Contemporary here in Margate.

I was just packing up to leave and saw this person leaning against the wall looking out to sea through the fantastic double height window. The symmetry of the composition really captured me.

It wasn’t until I was making this print that I realised that the person looking out to sea echoed the cast-iron sculpture ‘Another Time’ by Sir Antony Gormley that is on Fulsom Rock, just outside this window, that becomes visible and disappears again as the sea rises and fall.

This illustration leans heavily on symmetry and large blocks of colour predominantly in the green and orange space.
