'Stop Making Sense' is a self-initiated homage illustration to the seminal live performance of Talking Heads' 'Speaking In Tongues' album filmed at Pantages Theatre in Hollywood in December 1983.

The concert film was released the next year entitled 'Stop Making Sense'. During the performance lead singer David Byrne performed an elaborate dance predominantly with his arms and legs whilst stationary at the mic to the track 'Life During Wartime' and was the direct inspiration for this illustration.

I remember watching it late night on tv and being utterly spellbound. It was equal parts bonkers and brilliant and unlike anything I'd seen before.

What strikes me most though is how both the music and the film continue to stay relevant 40 + years on.
