‘Skateboarder’ was inspired by a young person who pulled up their board, placed it on the kerb between two parked cars and just sat down on it totally oblivious to the world around them.

I have never ridden a skateboard but those that do fascinate me. Always appears to me that skateboarders form tribes made up with independent others slightly distant from the mass population. I feel that the action of this particular skateboarder articulated this better than I ever could.

This illustration is sketchy monochromatic graphite in appearance on a neutral paper tone background.
